Do you feel like you need to dress a certain way to get a girl’s attention? Well, you’ve come to the right place! We are going to talk about all things men's fashion. So get your credit cards ready and let’s get to shopping.

Truth be told, it can be stressful trying to find an outfit. I know for me, I can try on ten things before I choose the fit I want to wear. Everyone has these struggles, even men. Outfits can be dependent on the weather, the occasion, and who you will be seeing.

If we’re being honest, first impressions are everything! If you’re taking a girl on a first date, you’re not going to want to show up in baggy sweatpants and a hoodie. It could only take a few pieces added to your wardrobe to make you look and feel your best.

Let’s talk a few basics:

  • Stop buying clothes that aren’t your size. We have all seen the guys who wear shirts too small because they want to appear “bigger” or shirts too big because it’s more comfortable. News flash: fashion isn’t always meant for comfort. Make sure you are buying clothing items in your size. Try on a few different sizes and see what works best for you.

  • Get some staple pieces for your closet. Staple pieces are simply items that can go with any outfit at any time. Pick up some white, gray, and black t-shirts. They can be paired with flannels, jackets, jeans, and more.

  • Stock up your closet with jackets — they can complete any look! Pairing jeans with a basic t-shirt and a bomber jacket? The most simple outfit but you will look like you put much more effort into it. Jackets are also practical. Buy one or two and see how you like them.

  • Invest in some good shoes, trust me. Sneakers aren’t going to work for every occasion. Shoes typically work best when they aren’t the focus of your outfit. If they don’t match or they are too different from the rest of you; they probably are the wrong choice. Try finding a nice pair of suede boots or leather loafers. The ladies love them and you can wear them for many occasions.

  • Shop your wardrobe. You don’t necessarily need to go out and purchase a whole new closet. Maybe the pieces you have already work but they need to be paired together. That shirt you bought for a job interview would go perfectly with jeans and suede boots. Sometimes you need to think outside the box and visualize what else could be done.

  • If you don’t know where to start when it comes to clothing, try utilizing a delivery service. Stitch Fix is a clothing delivery option that is for both men and women. You take a simple quiz to help them understand what you are looking for and they will handle the rest. You can receive a package with hand-picked clothes tailored to your style.

Look on Instagram for fashion advice. This is a trick so many girls use and men can as well! There are tons of men bloggers out there that can help you learn more about fashion and styling pieces. You might not agree with every blogger and that’s okay. Find things you like and use your style to make it your own. You can also get lost on Pinterest for some great fashion trends.

TikTok has also become a great resource for fashion advice. Men’s streetwear is in and there are so many influencers who are posting about it. Specifically, Chinese streetwear has had a huge buzz. While they are sporting designer items like Balenciaga, Christian Dior, and more, it doesn’t mean you can’t take inspiration from there.

Don’t feel like you need to go out and invest in expensive clothing. There are a ton of men’s clothing stores that are revamping their style so they are keeping up with the trends. Places like H&M, Target, ASOS, or Boohoo all have great options! Being a smart spender is sexy! Try shopping at affordable places first if you’re trying to impress a girl. That way, you look handsome and can spend more on a dinner date!

Amy DiLallo, the lead designer of “ili” a family-owned NYC business, says, “I’d also recommend starting to take notice of her style too, and also matching her level of dressing up or down based on the occasion.” DiLallo also added, “I personally love when I’m going on a date and my partner ends up matching my vibe & wears something complimentary versus us looking like we belong on different planets! I also love when a man has a strong sense of personal style, so cultivating what that is is important if that’s the direction you want to go.”

Chains are a great addition to any outfit. Adding a piece of jewelry is more common for men these days than ever before. We are now seeing men carrying fanny packs, wearing rings, and bracelets. I love this trend and hope it stays. Who says a man can’t rock a gold necklace?

What women find sexy is confidence! You could be the best-dressed person in the room but if you’re hiding in the corner, it won’t matter. Women want to see that you can carry a conversation, make them laugh, and most importantly, treat them right. Confidence may seem so simple, but it can go a long way. Maybe even dressing better will give the spark of self-assurance that’s been missing.

Revamping your style can be done at any age. Don’t be discouraged! Just take Steve Carell in Crazy, Stupid, Love as an example. While this is a movie, it can be completely prevalent in real life. An older man loses sight of himself after being married for so many years. In the end, what makes him the most attractive man is truly being himself — just with a new outfit.

If a girl is into you, it won’t matter all that much what you’re wearing. According to Catriona Jasica, a content writer strategist, “Dress however you may like. If a girl isn’t interested they wouldn’t give you the time of their day, but if you truly want to dress appropriately enough to attract the ladies then maybe try wearing your confidence as a dress. Because a pair of clothes will only get you gazes but confidence will get them attracted towards you in a snap.”
